The Future of Energy in California: Why Upgrading to Solar Is a No-Brainer

Ready to join the renewable energy revolution? With its clear skies and unwavering dedication to lowering carbon emissions, California is setting the bar high. Embrace the power of the sun by making the switch to solar with North Valley Solar Power.

Read on to learn more about the advantages of solar energy in Yuba City, Auburn, Lodi, and Grass Valley, the latest in net energy metering (NEM) programs, and how to switch to solar that’s more cost-effective—if you act before April!

The Advantages of Solar Energy

Here are some of the advantages of solar energy:

• • Abundant and Renewable: The sun is an abundant source of energy that is constantly renewing itself, making it a sustainable option for power generation.
  • Clean Energy: Unlike traditional energy sources that release harmful greenhouse gases and pollutants into the air, solar energy is clean and does not produce any harmful emissions.
  • Cost-Effective: While the initial cost of setting up a solar energy system may be high, the long-term cost savings from reduced energy bills can be substantial.
  • Low Maintenance: Solar panels require very little maintenance and are designed to last for decades, making them a cost-effective option over time.
  • Contributes to a Sustainable Future: By reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, solar energy is helping to create a more sustainable future for future generations.

Overall, the advantages of solar energy make it a valuable investment in a cleaner, more sustainable future.

California’s NEM 2 vs NEM 3

California has three different net energy metering (NEM) programs: NEM 1, NEM 2, and NEM 3. NEM 2 has been in place since the early 2000s, allowing homeowners who have solar panels in Grass Valley, Auburn, Davis, or Danville to receive credits on their energy bills for the additional power they produce. The most recent version of the program, NEM 3, builds on the success of NEM 2 while providing a number of new advantages and will go into effect on April 15th, 2023.

Act Now, before You Run Out of Time

While NEM 3 is the best option, NEM 2 is much better for your wallet than NEM 1. However, with the implementation of NEM 3 coming up on April 15th, 2023, there is an urgency behind switching from NEM 1 to NEM 2 (if not NEM 3). This is due to the rate cuts that are available to those who sign up before April 15th.

To get grandfathered in, those who wish to use solar power need to follow some simple steps, the first of which is to reach out to a solar energy provider such as the experienced and capable team at North Valley Solar Power. They will help you fill out everything you need to switch to NEM 2 or NEM 3 in time if you act quickly, which will allow you to use solar energy at a much cheaper rate.

Don’t wait any longer to start taking advantage of this clean, renewable, and cost-effective source of power. Make the switch to solar energy today with North Valley Solar Power! We provide solar services in Sacramento, Fairfield, and all the major cities in Northern California.
